Privacy Policy
This page explains what personal data this website processes, why, and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German law.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for this website is:
- Name
- Samuel Antoine Nicolas Vaugoyeau, trading as Samuel Vaug, Hospitality Consultant (sole trader)
- Address
- Wiener Straße 13, 10999 Berlin, Germany
- samuel@aperoberlin.com
No data protection officer is appointed, as none is required for this business (Art. 37 GDPR, Section 38 BDSG).
2. Hosting and delivery (Cloudflare)
The website files are stored in a GitHub repository (GitHub, Inc., USA) and delivered to your browser by Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., USA. GitHub does not receive data about visitors.
When you open a page, Cloudflare necessarily processes technical data: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working website).
Cloudflare may process this data in the USA. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR) and on Cloudflare's standard contractual clauses. More: Cloudflare privacy policy.
3. Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
This website does not currently use any analytics. If we add Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifiers on your device, this section will be updated before it is switched on.
4. Cookies
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It loads no third-party content: fonts and videos are stored on this website itself.
5. Booking a call (Calendly)
Discovery calls are booked through Calendly, a service of Calendly LLC, USA. The "Book a call" buttons open Calendly in a new tab; nothing from Calendly is loaded on this site. When you book, Calendly processes the data you enter (name, email address, your answers, the time slot) and technical data such as your IP address, under its own privacy notice.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to a contract). Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses. More: Calendly privacy notice.
6. Newsletter
Newsletter sign-ups are not open yet: the form on the homepage does not send or store your email address. Before sign-ups open, this section will describe the provider, the double opt-in and how long data is kept.
7. Contact by email
If you write to us, we process the data you send (usually your name, email address and message) to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message relates to a contract or a possible contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete it once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply (for example under German commercial and tax law).
8. Demo videos
The app demo videos on the homepage are stored on this website itself and do not contact any third party.
9. Fonts and external links
Fonts are stored on this website. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other font service.
Links to LinkedIn, Instagram and other sites are plain links. Those services only receive data if you click them, and their own privacy policies then apply.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17),
- restrict its processing (Art. 18),
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21),
- withdraw any consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)),
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example in the EU country where you live. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin.
To exercise your rights, write to samuel@aperoberlin.com.
11. No automated decisions
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
12. Changes
We update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always on this page.
